Levi’s celebrates its 150th anniversary with a limited release of five models, including 1873.

To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Levi’s patent (i.e. the day jeans were born), five limited edition models will be available, including the 1873 model – the early 501XX. On May 20, 1873, Levi’s® was granted a patent for “a method of using metal rivets for reinforcing the pockets of clothing” and the world’s first jeans were born. Levi’s® celebrates the birth of these jeans, which are still engraved on the patches of all its products, every year as “501® Day”. LVC201XX Made in USA, Valencia Factory

LVC (Levi’s Vintage Clothing) 201XX made in Valencia factory, USA. The reason I bought them was because I didn’t really feel comfortable with the Japanese LVCs made with Kaihara denim, so I thought I’d try the American ones. The natural fading of the color, which is not worn in hard, is a nice touch. LVC is not suitable for adding whisker and “hachinosu”, so that is not what I am looking for in this denim. LVC (Levi’s Vintage Clothing) 55501 Made in Japan Faded

I’ve been wanting to try these LVC (Levi’s Vintage Clothing) 55501 made in Japan. I don’t think it’s the closest to vintage because it’s the original, but I was curious about the natural look of the beard and the way the color fades in the knee area, which is different from the Japanese reproduction brands.
